I need a source for the doodads that block the crossbolt safety on a Marlin 1895 45/70 and a Winchester M-94 in 44 Magnum. Are they still avaiilable, or have the attorneys driven them into the sea? Thanks in advance, Okie John.

Several months ago I read an article on the web site SIXGUNNER.COM, by John Taffin about a "block" type thing that he used to replace the cross bolt safety in a Marlin. When finished it looked like another screw in the side of the receiver, just like it belonged there. I looked this a.m. and didn't see the article as still being posted, but you might contact him through this web site and maybe he can help you. Hope this helps a bit.

I know of some people who have put Lock-tite on the crossbolt safety, in the off position of course. It worked for them.

I hate to be rude, but did you search the web before posting? Took less than 30 seconds to find: Clyde Ludwig, P.O. Box 26156 Wauwatosa, WI 53226-0156, ph: 414-536-1101, has built a replacement which looks like a screw in the receiver. $12,95 including shipping and handling (cashier's check or money order only). It's made from blued steel. Installation takes 10 minutes or less. And I think there are other sources, too. Pertinax
