Judson:

They debuted at the SCI and SHOT shows last month. CZ is taking orders for the new .404 Jeffery, .450 Rigby and .505 Gibbs rifles.

Check out www.cz-usa.com or their new website for this line www.safariclassics.com It is a new site under construction.

As "jjs" said, call CZ at 1-800-955-4486 and ask for Jason.

MSRP of around $1850.00 for the .505. They are offering custom options as well.

Do a search on AR for a couple of threads on this topic last month.

No doubt it is true. I sent them an e-mail with my concerns over the price and the suggestion that they would no doubt sell a lot more of these rifles if they were priced closer to the 458 Lott & 416 Rigby. I'm sure they listened. Roll Eyes Any way they did send a Safari Classic catalog and the more I look at the thing the smaller the price seems. You know how the Catalog rifles are, always great wood and the fit and finish are perfect. Evidently more digital enhancement than the latest swimsuit issue from SI. But man I would love to rub one of those sexy .505’s all over my……(Sorry ‘bout that I drifted there for a minute.) I mean bear one across the plains and through the tall grass on a Cape Buffalo pursuit. Not to worry though, one of the more fiscally advantageous members will surely be willing to pass one along at a reasonable savings, after the shock and awe and throbbing head and shoulder wear off. And then my friend I will enjoy the warm touch of the American walnut, and finally be able to caress the gleaming blue steal of the .505 Gibbs of my dreams once and for all, some day soon my friend.

The first production run is suppose to commence sometime this month. The shop I work at has 5 on order and our manager handled the one at the SHOT show. Not a whole lot of use for a .505 in South Carolina but at least 3 of ours are already spoken for. I'm getting the "small bore", the .404 Jeff.

PC,

They are being made in America. Whether the action for the 505 is made at CZ factory I do not know but the rifle is made/put together in the US.

Maybe CZ USA can send completed rifles back to CZ for sale in Europe and then Winchester can bring them to Australia.

I attended the SHOT Show and was able to handle all the CZ's in the new calibers. American style stocks, matte as well as blue finish on them. Stocks were superbly done, checkering great. I put my name on the list for a .505 and was told 90 days. Not to gross anyone out, but I ordered it with the LUX stock.
