I just got the new Charles Daly catalogue and saw a gorgeous mauser sporter (drill/tapped, etc.) available in 375 H&H and 458WinMag. Here's the question: Anybody know how much one would cost? They have an annoying habit of not printing the price in the catalogue which makes me some what nervous...

The prices I'm hearing are about $400-500.

GeorgeS,
Heard any reports back on the quality? I just emailed them for a catalog yesterday via their website - www.charlesdaly.com . Also asked about MarkX action pricing and info.

Regards - Jeff P

SUPPOSEDLY, this resurrection of the Mark X line under the Charles Daly nameplate will include left-handed actions (short and long) and stainless steel actions. SUPPOSEDLY, they will be offering actions only, barreled actions, and complete rifles. SUPPOSEDLY the complete rifles will feature either wood or a Butler Creek stock.

I too got a bit of a chubby when I started conjuring up an image of a stainless steel M98 with a synthetic stock workhorse rifle. And a left-handed .223 M98 sporter for my son would be nice.

But we better take a wait-and-see attitude on this because it's all talk so far. Nobody has answered my emails when I've inquired about it. Contacted some big distributors and they knew nothing about it either.

You guys set me straight here. Wasn't the markX made in yugoslavia and imported by interarms?
how exactly are they going to revive it? Since yugo doesn't exist anymore? Where are the new actions made , are they copies? What's the deal?

Mike, the ads that are showing up in some gun magazines say " our new line of Mauser action rifles from Zastava ". It goes on to mention "European craftsmanship". The photo in the ad shows an action that looks very similar to the Mark X of years gone by. I called them again today (866-DalyGun). The lady I spoke with gave me a lot of "I don't knows". She said that actions have already been shipped to RSR and Brownells. She confirmed that left handed versions will be offered but could not elaborate. Completed rifles are not available yet, supposedly in a couple more weeks (she did mention the word "months" eventually).

She could not answer any specifics about calibers, action lenghts, whether stainless steel versions will be offered, left handed offerings, etc.

I haven't called RSR or Brownells yet, but I'll bet that all they might have are right hand, standard length actions.

Fellas,

would you like me to go through what they have listed in their catalogue?
