Given the weight closely matches the M33 ball ammo of the .50 BMG and is a boat tail, I would bet it is a spitzer. I can't wait to try some in my .50 BMG if I can find some.

Alf,

My guess is it is a "hunting" bullet for 50 BMG users. The BC is too high for a semi spitzer type round, like their 570 gr X bullet, which is what is required to fit and feed through a magnum mauser length magazine box. Ultimately, I guess we will have to wait for Barnes to post pics.

Honestly, though, I think the search for a excellent expanding .51" hunting bullet ends with the 600 gr Protected Point from Woodleigh.
