Absolutely, you can fire Win Mags in the Lott, very similar to 38Spl in .357Mag chamber or 2 3/4" shotgun shells in 3" chambers. Not recommended for full time use but a few 100 rounds shouldn't hurt.

Oscar - regarding your question - someone who has done it will answer sooner than later. I haven't tried it so couldn't tell you what the outcome may be.
