GSC 265gn/.375

M.....2900/4959
100...2777/4540
200...2675/4154
300...2538/3791
400...2421/3451
500...2307/3132

if you pick it up around the 200yd mark, its about the same velocity as the WinchesterFactory 270gnFS. Lets assume that we launch both pills at the same velocity (about 2670) for fair comparison. Now lets Compare the downrange figures.

270gn/.375 FS

M.....2670/4275
100...2447/3590
200...2234/2990
300...2033/2478

Woodjack, I'm sorry , but I am not sure what point you are making here. One of the benefits of the HV's is precisely that you can drive tham faster than "regular" bullets.

Yes Peter, I understand the speed advantage of the GSC.
Sorry,to be clearer, what I was trying to show was that even if you launch the GSC265gn and the 270FS at the same velocity(eg:2670),the GSC has such a ballistic advantage that it has more Velocity/Energy at 300yds(2307/3132) than the 270Fs has at 200yds(2234/2990).

Not all rifles will spit the GS out as fast as you are saying. My 375 apparently has a tight barrel and gives very clear pressure signs at 2 gr below my (RE 15)max load for the 270 A-Frame load. Speed is OK at about 2730 but it sure is not the 2900 that is one of the big selling points of the GS bullet. Not trying to rain on anybody's parade but just giving you the facts with my M70.

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

Woodjack, or anyone else, what loads have you developed for the GS Custom HV's in 375? I have some, but did not get much useful information from Gerard's website, so, bacause of the cost of these things, did not do a lot of load development. Accuracy was not what I expected or hoped for, so I just stuck with the Nosler Partitions. Not knocking the bullet, I just don't want to waste a lot of money sending $1 bullets through paper into sandbanks! I would be very interested in hearing other's experiences.
