I mounted my Kahles 2,2-9x42 (30mm tube) with Millet rings and bases but this didn't work. The scope is moving when the rifle recoils and allso, I can see "the sky" under the bases. On the base closest to me, the base is vissibly not straight. The air pocket under the base is triangular. This has something to do with the recoil stopper on the side of the mounting rail. My guess is that Millet is not the best mounting system for this rifle / calliber. I'v been advised to buy Warne but a gunsmith advised that I need something even better. Is it possible to use Tikka Optilock mounts if I do some milling work on them (or the rifle)? Wich mount do you recomend for this scope / rifle / calliber combo? I be most grateful for any suggestions

Thomas, I just use cz mounts on my .416 Rigby as does my friend on his and we have no dramas at all. I also use Warne Fixed mounts on my .585 as does my my mate on his .585 and after 10 shots we have no evidence of moving yet in that either. I think you will find the cz rings will work very well, they are made for that rifle. Hope this helps.

Cut to the Chase! Warne or CZ. Talley doesn't make them.

Good advise from PC. I use the factory CZ mounts. No problems. I use the Warne fixed mounts. No problem. Both of the above are easily detachable, to allow use of iron sights, though not "QD," and may not return to zero precisely, which is fine with me. I like a rifle with a securely attached scope which is going to stay that way unless I destroy the scope. Otherwise I just use a peep sight or express sights. If using these mounts, degrease any threads that secure the rings to the rifle, and worry less about them working loose in recoil. Millet rings are trash, good only for 22 rimfire use. They used to investment cast even the screws and didn't heat treat them I would guess. They break easily on heavy recoiling guns. Millet rings for CZ are also of very poor design in the way they attach.

I use Warne rings exclusively on everything I own. Make sure you lap the rings thoroughly when you install them and add a dab of the lapping material to the ring steel on the bottom and top. Install the scope and tighten down the screws snugly. The scope will never move if you follow this procedure.-Rob

Warnes low mount for Sako and Brno is not listed any more. Only medium and high. Does anyone knew why? I believe there is a big market for the low mount. Dont you? Mail them and tell them to start manufacture the low ones. info@warnescopemounts.com

The old low worked fine. But they was to weak. With the medium I have 11mm betwen the scoope and the barrel.

Just use CZ rings, they are the best for your particular rifle.

The Warne QR work great on the CZ/416. The problem is they quit making them for some reason. Will
