Anybody out there have a recipe for 200 or 220 grain bullets at 2200 to 2400 feet/second for the .375 H&H? I've tried the loads in the Hornady and Speer manuals and can't get better than a 3 or 4 inch group at 100 yards. 4759 gives especially poor results.

The load I like for practice is not exactly light, but has only moderate recoil and is very, very accurate ... having made a number of 100 yard groups smaller than bullet diameter:

Rem .375 H&H cases
Federal 215 primers
Speer 235 gr SP bullets
76.0 gr RL15
2,934 fps

This load is extremely destructive even on smaller game, and cannot be recommended for anything but paper and preditor control. ;>Wink

As always, your rifle may be very different that mine and one should always start the reloading test round process at a charge weight that is definitely safe as suggested by several reputable reloading manuals!

Try 39 - 41 gains of H4227 (see bold below), Fed 210 and 220 Hornady Flat nose seated to the canelure. No fillers required

Does on average 2100 f/s and I have seen it shoot 10 shot 1 inch groups from a couple of very accurate 375s with match grade barrels and others ave found it to be very accurate in factory M70 and CZ/BRNO 375s

If you decide to try this load I would email Hodgdon and ask them to confirm that H4227 is the Australian made powder, I am sure it is but easy enough to check. If it is listed as one of the "extreme" powders then it is the Austrlian made powder. In Australia it is sold as ADI 2205

With Accurate 5744
I got this from an email from Accurate when I inquired about loads for a 260 Nosler in my .375
255 Grain bullet
34.0 - 1771 FPS
47.0 - 2310 FPS
I have loaded but not shot some 39, 40, 41 grain loads. Waiting for the weather to clear.

With RL-15
260 grain Nosler.
64.0 - 2390-2400 FPS
These are very moderate and easy to shoot and accurate in my Whitworth and Mod.70 Safari Express.

If you will send me your email addy I will forward the load information I have.
