Hello kb,

Just so that you know I am biased, I will tell you up front - I like Rugers.

From the reports that I have heard, the one problem that may be encountered is that an empty may not be ejected if the bolt is worked vigorously - the ejector blade spring may not be strong enough to pop the ejector out before the rim goes past it. This is remedied with a stronger spring, or polishing the ejector for smooth operation, but something you'll want to check.

There may be two configurations - the early heavy barrels and the latter slimmer barrels. The early models are more desirable.

You did not mention cost, but I would guess that $1000US would be the approximate "dividing line" over here.

As Ray A. has said before, the RSM is a lot of gun for the money. A friend has one, and has no complaints.

I'd be interested in your decision.

Regards, Bill

I have used mine in Africa and here (hog). It handles well and shoots well. I am considering buying another in 458 Lott.

I`m very pleased with mine. It`s accurate, powerful and frankly I enjoy shooting it.
