After hearing so many good things about the .375, I just had to buy a barrel for my Blaser R93. Thanks to a fellow AR member and his store, I just rounded off my essential barrel battery for my Blaser. A .223, .300 Win Mag, and now a .375 H&H. I bought some low cost Remington 270 grain pointed soft points to break myself and the barrel in as well as to get the scope on target. I leave for Africa on a plainsgame hunt in May and was wandering if these bullets would be sufficient if they shoot good? I would like to take this barrel along with my .300 barrel.

Congratulation on your new .375 H&H barrel!

I'd opt for ammo with Nosler 260 grain Partitions for plains game, and 300 grain Partitions for bigger stuff. Or you could just get the 300 grain bullets and shoot everything with those. That's what I did.

Have a great hunt!

Spend the extra money and use premium bullets, Partitions, A-frames or TBBC. Don't want to loose a $1,000 trophy fee because of a cheap bullet.

I saw that Federal loaded one of their .375 shells with a 260 grain Nosler Accubond. Are they any good?

Dthfrmbv, I would make sure I used a quality bullet. If you reload Barnes bullets are very good. Have a great trip. Big Grin

Those Accubonds will do quite well for any thin-skinned game! I'd opt for an A-Frame or Partition on a Cape Buffalo, and monolithic solids for rhino and elephant. But I would not hesitate to use the Accubond for everything else, including lion and leopard.

I had outstanding success with 260 gr accubonds on mountain zebra, gemsok, and kudu in Namibia this summer. Great accuracy, great penetration, good weight retention. I'd use them on anything short of buffalo. Bob
