SeattleGuyNEF 500 S&W - a big bore plinking rifle
I guess this belongs on the big bores forum...
I recently bought a New England Firearms single shot rifle in .500 S&W for the extravegant price of $199. And you know what? I like it!!
I like making half inch holes in the paper. I like lobbing 500 grain bullets down range without abusive recoil. And I like the fear i see in the soda can's eyes when I line up my sights and blast them to bits.
Does this rifle have real practical value? Not sure. But entertainment value? I'm taking this one to the range every time I go.
Highly recommended low cost fun.

wrongtargetSeattle Guy,
Check out the Graybeard Outdoors NEF/H&R Centerfire forum, lots to be learned there about your new NEF rifle, there are even a few .500 owners there to compare notes with!! I don't have a .500 cuz I have 45-70s that fill that niche but they do appeal to a lot of shooters, several there are looking for em but they're a bit hard to find.
