Did you mean 375 taylor? "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Gentlemen When I had my 416 Taylor made the gunsmith that quoted me on the job was too cheap to refuse so I had him make my rifle I managed to get about 100 rounds of Custom made and head stamped 416 Taylor brass, primed and ready to go Anyhow, when I got the rifle back, I loaded up some dummy cases, dropped a round into the action and went to close the bolt, it would NOT close, and I tried everything, as persistant as I was I could not close the bolt, Well I thought the custom brass was all crap, so I rang the gunsmith to ask tell him about it and he explained that he chambered the barrel in 338 Win Mag and necked it in 416 I checked case drawings and found that the Talor rounds are infact 458 Brass necked down not 338 Brass necked up. Whats the difference I hear you ask......about 60 thou difference in the shoulder height, thats what the difference is. You can form Taylor brass from 338 Win Mag but it will blow the shoulder forward Taylor rounds have the same case length, but in reality have a Higher shoulder height than the 338 Win mag, Taylor rounds have slightly shorter necks Long story but I had to send my 416 Taylor away to get the chamber drilled forward the extra 60 thou to allow it to chamber a proper full length resized 416 Taylor case Hope this helps regards S&F

http://www.geocities.com/bw_99835/ Save yourself some time and try RL 15 first. 70 grns in my 9.3x338 using 250 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips = 2810 fps. This is one of the sources I used when I needed a load for my wildcat. I also looked at several manuals that showed loads for the 358 Norma, and used some of the starting loads shown with the best powders. I think you should ignore load data for the 338 WM, because it seems to me the optimum powder for the 338 will be slower than the best powder for the 375 Taylor or the 9.3x338. This is reflected in the load data from the link above. For example, I like 4350 for the 338, but to get up to speed, it fills the case too much for the larger diameter bullets without compression. ...........If you can find Muskeg Man and pm him he has alot of data as that is what he shoots ....It is a great round ,,one that would do everything ,forever and do it well ....It,s not too much and not too little ....Just Right .......I have no idea why I don,t have one ..............Barring that 9.3x64 Brenneke Data can be used to establish starting loads , and the top velocities will be similar for similar barrel lengths .............. .If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

.375/338,unless the 308 Norma is the 300 Taylor and the 7mm Rem Mag is the 7mm Taylor, 264 Taylor, 9.3 Taylor, 8mm Taylor, 270 Taylor, 458 Taylor, blah blah blah. Taylor didn't invent it. Just because it is a 458 Win Mag necked down to something else doesn't make it a "Taylor". Sorry for the rant, its just kind of a pet peeve.
