I have not been able to locate a CZ550 416 Rigby locally so I have opted for a design change. It also did not hurt that a coworker offered to sell me his M70 for $400!

I will be building my 585 Nyati on a M70. The rifle is currently a 300 Win mag. I took possesion 30 minutes ago! It has begun.

I did not run around saying I was a gunsmithing expert! I did make some "expert" statements about engineering, but not gunsmithing! The only reason I am asking the questions is to make sure I get it right the first time. That is the entire purpose of these forums. If you have a problem with me asking question, in order to learn, please ignore my inquiries.

I plan on sharing the end results with you. I do not see myself going to Africa to shoot anything though. More likely I will go down to the Carolinas, and hunt hogs with some friends.

caution : WIN70 have a thread barrel of 1 inch ( 1x16 ) that not enought to make a safe 585 chamber , if you need a Brno , any 602 or 550 can do the job and you have a far better barrel thread diameter.

WIN 70 is not design to hold giant cartridge even if 585 NIATI is a low pressure cartridge.
