Was not sure where to put this.

Has anybody checked out the cost of Whitworths latley??
They are on Gunbroker for $1200 to $1600..
I have some Whitworths but won't be getting any more if that's the new peice..
Supply and demand?
Just wondering how high they will go??
Any Thoughts

Supply and demand. There's a resurgence in getting older rifles that worked even though the prices are way too high.

Some guy posts an over-priced Whitworth and the rest follow. If they sell they're not over-priced. One of them has a muzzle brake and they still want $1200. Good luck. Whitworth's are nice but not that nice.

Agreed, imo, they're $700-$850 rifles.

just run down to your local gunshop and have them order you a couple...they call them Remington 798s now, and they're identical except for no express sights (front or rear), piss poor finish on the metalwork, and a piece of plywood, poorly inletted, for a stock.

They are overpriced, just like Pre-64 Model 70's, and they are not coming down anytime soon.

Also a lot people trying to sell Interarms Safari rifles as real Whitworths which they are not.

Best deal I could find on a Whitworth 375 H&H last year was $900 plus shipping and that was without the iron sights. Prices have just gone up - look for 416s or 458s on any of the gun auctions now and you will find very few less than $1200.
