Bakes you asked about the "size" of the Boys. Here are a couple of my photos back when I used to try to "hunt" with the thing in New Mexico. I am 5' 8 1/2" tall to give you some reference. And it looks like I cleverly rested the butt pad on top of my boot to keep the gun out of the sand. And another "size" picture for you. As I recall the thing weighed 36 pounds. You would think this would be so heavy it wouldn't kick...but you would be in for a rude awakening when you pulled the trigger. [ 01-31-2003, 09:39: Message edited by: Pecos45 ]

Mehul - Here is the best picture I have found to date of the .20 mm Lahti I used to shoot. It's a better picture than my Boys stuff...but sadly there is nothing in it to give you a real appreciation of the SIZE of the Lahti. It is a MUCH larger gun than the Boys. Just imagine the black box magazine on top of the gun is about the size of a brief case and you will get a pretty good idea how big the gun really is. 20mm Lahti - [ 01-31-2003, 09:44: Message edited by: Pecos45 ]

I like the skis on the Lathi. Too bad you dont have it any longer, you could show a few BMGers what a BIG gun really is. How hard was ammo to come by when you had the Lathi? Kristofer

It would be fun to have a shot of the beast, but I hate to be the poor bugger that had to fight with it I bet the troops made themselves scarce when the SGT wanted a boys gunner. Bakes

Thanks Pecos for the pictures. You really are a lucky man to have been able to shoot the most powerful guns ever made! Most of us here can only dream about these monsters. Good shooting!
