Calm down!
NO i´m NOT gonna drill it for scope!
I wont do anything to it that will harm it´s "originallity". I will keep the original stock (which is cracked, and scraped) in the closet, pick of the doubletrigger and KEEP it. Both of these can be put back on the rifle again.
A new walnut stock in classic shape will be put on it.

why?

I've got an FN commercial magnum mauser (currently a barrelled action in 375Imp) and a very nice rough inletted walnut stock I'd trade. The history of rifles like these in this situation tends to be that they never get put back together again. Consider making a very nice hunting rifle out of something that has (only) value to create with.

Please, duplicate the wonderful Oberndorf-pattern stock for your replacement - no pregnant forends. Just so the irons won't feel awkward.
That is a real classic.

Hello! I WILL KEEP the original stock, I WONT SELL IT! Since it is cracked and badly scraped on the right side I dont want to use it. But i will keep it Cool
I will give it an old Husqvarna stock wich fits me perfecly. The iron sights fall in the EXACT right spot when aiming.
This is how the "new" stock looks like:

This is my Husqvarna 146 in 9,3x57, wich will pe reamed out for 62, fit with a red recoilpad etc. I think it is a good choise and a wonderful looking stock, in its simplicity.

First ask yourself: Do I really need this gun?

The answer will be "No".

Then you´ll remember that nice guy cewe in Finland and you´ll sell it to him!

Or I´ll trade you a .375H&H Mannlicher mod 72 for it!

SmilerCewe, I "know" a guy here in Sweden who has a couple of old 10,75`s. Original Oberndorfs and some other brands. All made on the 98 action. Shall I call him and ask for his e-mail adress for You? Smiler

Nice, You like the stock too Boha. It is a very simple one, without any cheekpiece, as You can see. I just LOVE the shape!
Right now I´m trying to find yet another one to convert to 7x57 and a stock for my 10,75.
A couple of years ago they were VERY common on the shelfs of every gundealer here. But then the wildboar spread across our country and "everyone" "needed" a "big bore"...
Now they are quite hard to find in good shape, but I´ve seen a pic of one that looks promising.

CSC: Please send me the info on your contact, I like the 10.75 round and am seriously looking for one.

Boha: Since when did "need" become an issue when it comes to guns?

CSC,
I have the same Husqvarna reamed out to 9.3x62.
It has a Packmar recoil pad added along with Recknagel low QD mounts with a steel 4x Schmidt&Bender scope.
I have it loaded with Woodleigh 286grn softs and 320grn solids.
A great rifle!
cheers

Here´s a pic of my Husqvarna 9,3x57. It´s now fitted with a Pachmayr Decelerator pad and a Recknagel 3-p safety. I got it from the gunsmith today.
The 10,75 will look exactly the same, except for the barrel dimensions that will be a little bit thicker than this.
The rifle on the picture will soon get drilled for scope, get a new bolt handle and be reamed out for the 9,3x62.

I have a Husky 640 in 8x57 that needs redoing but I have a few projects going before I get to that Frowner

I think I might stay with the original caliber, then I´ll have a 8x57, 8x60 and 8x68!

All I need now is an original 8x64...

To all the 10.75 shooters, which dies do you use to reload with ? I bought 2 sets of RCBS and neither would set the shoulder to fit the chambers in any of the three Obern. Mausers I currently own. I had to send the dies back to RCBS..............................JJ

JJ,
I have always used 10.75x68 dies from RCBS. With the Horneber brass you must regulate the dies to fit your chamber before you ever fire a new case or they will weaken are ruin the case. Once fireformed you will have the dies set and the case is fireformed.

When these old guns were made I am of the opine that the gunsmiths of the day just ran the reamer in until it just looked about right! Smiler

Anyway thats how I have solved the problem, and I had it on everyone of them except the old Hoffman that LB404 bought from me.
