Has anyone tried the 350's in the short barreled .375 Ruger Alaskan? If you have, how was the accuracy and velocity? Been lucky enough to shoot a critter with them yet? How was performance? My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

My experience with the Woodleighs in the 375 Ruger is limited but on a sampe size of two I'll say they do kill big bears and that all of them exited on side shots . During my testing in large piles of scrap moose meat I found that they seemed very soft and penetrated only around 18" and they lost almost 1/2 their weight. In comparison the factory 270 gr Hornady interbonds penetrated the same depth and opened just as wide and weighed the exact same even though they started out weighing 80 grains less. In the same media on the same day the 270 Barnes TSX bullets penetrated nearly 10 inches farther and lost no weight. Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com
