BUT dont forget your hearing protection or you will be hearing a ringing in your ears for a week . go to www.muzzlebrake.com and look at those brakes . also give them a call they will answer all of your questions no matter how dumb you think they are . they answered all of my questions even the ones i thought were dumb and found out they were not so dumb .

One brake is about as good as another, if you get no blast and no noise, then it simply isn't working as well as one that gives you blast and noise... All a brake does is redirect gases and the more the gas comes back and the more gas it displaces, then the better it works.... I like the Vias because it is a nice looking brake as for as brakes go....but KDF, Brockman and and many others work just fine....I like the trimline or barrel diameter brakes but again they do not work as well as the larger brake..

I've been building and testing muzzel brakes for years. I'll disagree with Ray on this one, they are far from all the same. It depends alot on the gun! generally muzzel brakes are most effective on guns that burn the most powder. The clamshell brakes have it all over the cylindrical ones. Unfortunately they look terrible. I personally like the Vias brakes and or the accubrake and like Ray find they are darn effective. I've made a bunch of integrally braked barrels myself and they seem to work quite well. The biggest problem with removable brakes is that they are often off-center and this can negatively effect accuracy. If you have one installed, get a machinist to do it not a gunsmith.-Rob
