A few weeks ago I asked about load data for my new up and coming rigby and got great information from several and mucho THANKS! beer
I leave 7/4 this year to Moz for Lepoard, Buff, Sable and Nyala. I will only t5ake the 416 Rig. What bullet do you reccommend for the buff. I understand a 400 grain soft should be the first and 400 grain solids for the two down (which bullet) What bullet would you reccommend for the Lepoard?

You can't go wrong with NorthFork Soft, solids and/or cup points. IMO some of the very best bullets money can buy.

Also I would stick with one soft load and one solid load. Dont start worrying about taking 5 different bullet types/weights for different animals.

Bulldog563 hit the nail on the head. The North Forks are my choice for both my .416 Rem and Rigby. The 370 grain Soft first followed by the 370 grain flat point put my Buff down for the count. I recovered the soft and it had that perfect mushroom as advertised. wave thumb Good shooting.

phurley, Would you recommend the 370 grain north fork for the cat as well.
Is the North fork flat nose a solid bullet?

I would use the Barnes 400-grain TSX for ALL those critters. If you need a lighter ball for the leopard, then use the 350-grain TSX......

I think those TSX's are tough enough that you don't need to use a solid too for buff. BUT, if you do, barnes makes a nice 400-grain solid roundnose too.....

huntnjim ----- The flat nose I talked about is a solid and I should have noted that. The soft North Fork is ideal for Cats. When I go back to Africa I will have North Forks in my rifles. On plains game I used the 270 grain North Fork with my .358 STA, all bullets performed as advertised. wave Good shooting.
