After playing around with 400gr and 435gr cast bullets in my Lott, I found that none of them hit near the same POI as my 500gr softpoint loads.
Then I bought a simple Lee 500gr mold and pleaded till Mike (MSTARLING) finally fired up the lead pot and at great personal risk cast me a bunch of said bullet.
Yesterday I finally got out to the range and the third load I tried, 78gr of Varget yielded this group from the bench at 50 yards:
And as an added bonus it hits the same POA/POI as the full tilt boogie load.
I believe this will do for 99.99999% of the things my Lott will shoot at in the forseeable future.

NICE! I've sent a pile of ~350grainers downrange over ~20grains of cowboy action shootingn pistol powder but nothing w/ same POA/POI as full tilt loads. Thanks for the tip!

Wonder if I could buy any of those bullets anywhere???????
I doubt any commercial casters are using Lee molds, Mike says they're a PITA to use. I'll probably start looking for a better mold that throws a similar bullet.
Then there'll be another reason to try to get Mike out playing with hot lead in 95 degree weather.

Go to Accurate powders' website and check into AA5744. Makes some really nice light loads for playing around. Use it in my 416 Rigby with 350 Speers for plinkers. Recoils like an '06 at around 1900 fps.

I was too lazy to walk down to the 100 yd line and post targets. So I was shooting for groups at 50 yards. But a tempting clod of dirt as big as my fist was laying in the impact area, "was" laying there.
