I had a Burris scope on my CZ .404 Jeffery but to be honest, with a scope, Ray is right, the CZ is pretty heavy so... What to do? I got to thinking that it might be fun to shoot it with the irons so I ordered a peep sight this morning from NECG. I should have it in a week or so and I'll let you know how it works out.

It will work just as well as any other peep sight!

For the proverbial, hypothetical broken scope occurrence, I figure carrying the peep in my pocket is alot less trouble than carrying an extra scope.

I drilled out the hole on the peep so it looks more like a ghost ring.

My new 416 Ruger, has Talley bases and rings with a 1x4 Leupold scope and a Talley slide on peep ($65.00 from Talley)..It is very small and has a big apature hole and has windage..For elevation I used a the highest NECG partridge front sight with a gold face and filed it down to zero..I like the gold faced post in conjunction with a peep sight..

I doubt that I will use the scope much...

The .395 Tatanka M76 African Dakota has the same setup as Ray is talking about: Talley peep and gold post from NECG, banded and hooded.

The .398 Lapua Mag. CZ 550 Magnum has the NECG peep and the same gold post from NECG.

A second NECG peep has been tried with a big white bead on the CZ. Works fine too.

Good backup for the scope.

That NECG peep fits in my pocket a lot better than a second scope and set of rings.
Will is right on that.

What the hell RIP? This implies that it the only thing I have ever got right. More difficult to find, though, is anytime I have been wrong. Smiler
