Rusty,

Please call my wife and tell her I need a 450/400 3" double rifle. Then I can join the club. Even without a double rifle, can I get a ride in that Swedish Tonka truck?

I've already got the rifles picked out. Look at this matched pair of Lyon & Lyon:

Looks like you had a great time.

Regards,

Terry

You do not have to own a double rifle to be a member! As long as Mike and Perry bring the truck you can ride!

Those are beautiful rifles! Nice pair and a decent price I think? I'd have to be sure they shot OK, but not a bad price!

I will be in Dallas Friday to attend the Dallas Safari Club. Can only be there Friday, but I hope to be able to meet some of the members of the forum if they are around.

Hey all,

I'll be in Dallas either friday or saturday. I'm going to meet Atkinson and a few others. Where would we meet up? I'll be there 2 days. I've got lunch plans one day but I'll be free the other.

Let me know,

-Catter

Rusty-my former friend,

A point of correction on the historical cultural mistake contained in your post. Oklahomas taught Texans the proper location and use of flush toilets. Prior to our assistance, Texans had been using the few flush toilets smuggled into the state to wash their stolen vegetables and illegally snared possums, but never their hands, prior to cooking a stew. However, the beds not being on the floor were a bit confusing. Why put them up on stilts? Also, our not being familiar with running water is incorrect. Both, mine and Mike's huts are located by nearly clear, running streams. We just don't feel it necessary to go to all the trouble of running pipes to our houses. The delivery of water is left to women and children, while the men pursue important business; such as hunting and whiskey drinking.

For those of you who have not met these gentlement, Rusty, Mark and Mac are first rate hunting companions. They can tell stories and jokes all night long that will split your sides. Further, I received fantastic advise regarding the purchase, use, care, history and reloading of double rifles from these fellows. We had a great hunt and despite our best efforts even managed to find hogs dumb enough or unlucky enough to dodge infront of at least part of the fusillade of shots we loosed during any chance encounter. Mark, made a great shot under diffucult circmstances and then showed a total lack of etiquette by not beating his chest, bragging and indulging in self congratulatory back slaps. Rusty, we must properly counsel that boy before next years meeting. Rusty and Mark's rifles are beautiful and despite my best efforts they always managed to find where I had hidden them prior to their departure. Shooting Mac's Merkel at over 150 yards and hitting the target has convinced me that the brand is a great buy and a damn fine rifle. The balance and pointing characterists of his double were fantastic. And the gun is a beauty as well.

It was a great hunt with my only complaint being Rusty's camera did not accurately capture my rugged good looks, Greek god like body and for some reason made me appear much shorter than I really am. See you fellows next year.

Perry
