Does anyone out there have LEU QR 2pc bases on a current M70 Safari Classic? Specifically, are the bases low enough to use the factory M70 fixed sights (NECG rear w/ Williams 7/16" front ramp and Williams .343" bead sight)? I need quick release, but the Talley and LEU QRW levers snag and hang up in my backpack scabbard. The LEU QR mounts have smaller levers that may work w/out snagging. LEU technical assistance is closed until Jan 02, so I would appreciate if someone could help me out. Thanks, Gary

Yes, I have Leupold QRs on my M70 .375H&H. Whether you will be able to see over to use the iron sights probably depends upon your facial geometry. I have low cheekbones and a long neck so the irons are not really useable. George

Thanks George! Would it be possible for you to give me a measurement of the front base height (receiver to top of base)? I'll transpose that to mine and see if it obstructs my view of the iron sights. I did a rough measurement and it appears that I can go a bit better than .300" above my front receiver ring before I get into my sights. Thanks, Gary
