Glad to hear Redding offers dies for the .500 Mbogo. Last time I talked with Redding, a couple of years ago, about dies for a .500 Schuler Jumbo Redding would not build any .500 die set. RCBS would make custom .500 dies no problem at all. The .500 Mbogo is an oustanding cartridge, but Good Doctor RIP, I can't buy more efficiently, safely (whatever you mean by this) or reliably. By "reliably" I guess you mean rebated rim, but either cartridge is equally reliable in properly adjusted rifle. Whichever your choice, the .500 Rimless is the ultimate DGR chambering.

Hullo Good Doctor RIP! How do you get a bigger case capacity by moving from a steep shoulder (45 degrees) to a shallow shoulder (20 degrees)? Isn't the idea of the Ackley Improved and other Improved case design to blow the case out to a steeper shoulder? The .416 Rigby is a very "modern" case design. What is the problem with the 45 degree shoulder design? Resizing the case? Feeding? Thanks RIP.

Hullo Bullwhiff, Get out your Crayolas and draw a .416 Rigby neck and shoulder, use a red crayon. Make it as big as you want for drawing ease. Now use a green crayon and draw a 20-degree shoulder at the same location as the 45-degree shoulder of the .416 Rigby, superimpose it on the same original red drawing. Hint: it will just take two strokes of the green crayon to do this. Now scan the picture you have drawn, and post it here. If you are really this dense, we must go slowly, step by step.

Howdy do Good Cantucke Doctor!!! I've read your post a couple of times, and I think you're saying make the case longer???

Bullwhiff, This proves that I can go no further with educating you until you do the crayon drawing and post it. Do not make the cartridge any longer than a standard .416 Rigby! Do make the 20-degree shoulder start at the same point as the 45-degree shoulder. Same base to shoulder distance.

Ha ha Ha ha ha ha. Good Cantuckeee Doctor, don't you have to taper the case body to go to a 20 degree shoulder and keep COAL?

Bullwhiff, It is hard to believe you have so little mechanical or spatial relationship apptitude. Are you really a girl? Of course you do not have to change the case taper! Do the drawing with crayons and post it. You are really wasting bandwidth here. I really should not be responding anymore to someone who will not even help himself. You are a liberal Democrat girl? You voted for Obama?

Hi doctor Berry, I honestly don't get it. I don't see how you can go from a sharp shoulder angle to a shallower shoulder angle and increase case capacity all other deminsions remaining constant?

Oh, almost forgot. What does spatial relationship aptitude mean

Bullwhiff, Sorry for the misspelling. "Apptitude." I corrected that above. Go read it again. I know you get totally confused if everything isn't perfectly to-the-letter spelled out for you. You have not done the Crayola work yet? That's it! No more hints from me! Do your homework.
