Okay, I'm also trying to simplify my life, or powders anyway.

I've switched to RL-15 for the 375 & 416 Rem. Hopefully you will get a 2400 fps load for the Lott in your 25" CZ barrel, so I'll be a 2300 fps at 22"..

Now, give me a load for my 280 Rem with RL-15, and my life with be simplified if not complete.

Of course, a complete switch to RL-15 will undoubtedly initiate cessation of its production.

Will,
I've been buying it in 5 pound cannisters for the same reason. It's either the best powder for a good many of my favorite cartridges or close enough. .375,.416,.505 ... all RL-15 now.

Will-
Much as I love R15 for the big bores, it is absolutely wrong for anything like a 270, 280 or 300 magnum. Way too fast a burn rate for anywhere near optimum results in such calibers. Just buy some R22 and that, along with R15 will cover anything and everything quite well!;(

What is the purpose of trying to load everything with one or two powders??? Doesn't make much since to me...I prefer the best powder for the specific caliber...H414 for the 7x57, IMR-4320 for the 458 Lott, IMR-4831 for the 404 and so fouth...

One is not TRYING to do this, necessarily, but when a powder gives excellent performance in a number of cartridges it may pay to buy it in larger quantities at a reduction in cost, while receiving the long term benefits of having on hand a goodly supply of a proven Lot #.

Needless to say, RL-15 is my powder of choice for reloading Nitro Express rounds! Very consistant velocities!

Will,
I will see what I can do with RL-15 at the 2400 fps barrier.

What John S said about the 280.

Ray,
I have followed your approach so far, and have 35 different kinds of powders cached. A tentative simplified inventory for me might be:

Unique
H110
IMR 3031
RL-15
IMR 4350
H4831
IMR 7828
H50BMG

Very tentative, hesitant to give up the powders for simplicity and reduction of stockpiles: [Confused]
