What bullet from the 2 factory Federal loads do you think is best for Elephant in my .470. The Trophy Bonded Sledge Hammer or the Woodleigh solid? Is there any use for soft points on an Elephant hunt?

1. No need for softs on an elephant hunt, unless you want to shoot plains game. But solids from a .470 will work almost as well as softs on plains game due to the large diameter bullet.

2. You should get about the same penetration on a brain shot of an elephant with either the Woodleigh or Trophy Bonded, although you may see a bit more penetration and a bit bigger wound channel on a body shot from the Trophy Bonded.

3. I would use the one that regulates better in my rifle.
