I shot at American Shooting Center for many years. With all the people/crowds etc, it can be a zoo. I only had a couple of the range guys talk to me like I was whale sperm and thats on the bottom of the ocean. The dumb butts with guns that show up out there is what scares me. I prefered baileys when I lived in Houston. If I still lived there I would look into the gun club that Rusty started this post about.

Muzzlebreak, The only requirement is that you be sighted in on paper at the 100 before shooting the 300 for the first time. The 1000 is brand new. I am not a 1000 yard shooter so I don't know. The link I gave you to the club site above will have contact information there as well as an application that you fill out. You must attend a new member's seminar. After that the Juliff range is open to all members during daylight hours. On 1000 yard match days they close the 200/300 yard range which sits in line with the 1000. They are having in inaugural opening shoot at the 1000 yard range this Saturday. You might use the contact information on the site to call them and see if you can observe/ or shoot in the match if you wish? These guys are big time serious palma/long range shooters! Maximum bullet diameter for 1000 yard shoots is .308. All bullets must still be supersonic at 1000 yards.
