Have any of you had the chance to play with a 50 Beowulf yet? If so what to you think? I do like the idea of a compact/semiauto big bore for moose and bears that will fit nicely my ATV. I love my 45-70, But, I think my Ol'lady is going to take it away from me for herself So I need to find a replacement rifle (I will make up any excuse for a new firearm).

If you want a heavy duty semi-auto with .45-70 performance, consider the .458 SOCOM by Marty at Teppo Jutsu. I have one of his uppers. They are extremely versatile. The bullet selection is much better than the Beowulf's, and you do not have to modify your magazines for it. Oh yeah, Marty's an ultra cool guy too. If .458 SOCOM isn't bad enough, consider the .470 Tremor.

FWIW, Marty and I have been kicking around a .308 length wildcat to duplicate the .404 Jeffery from a semi-auto rifle.

Man! I wish you still had some 'Molon Labe' lowers left! I've got a Spartan buddy who'd love one!
