Tiggertate,

Or better yet, you could make magic marker crosshairs directly on your shooting glasses, so a target will always be in your field of veiw! A very advanced form of targeting system ala the type the "Terminator" had! The previously broken glasses will of course be held together with duct tape at the nose bridge.

However the Blaser break open actions in the K 95 and in the double rifles may set a new standard in break open strengths.

Yaddi daddi da I would much rather buy a Merkel or Schierling wich have a much better design and quality than the blaser. Both have an extremly strong locking system. Sorry! can't see any advantage with the blaser But none of them will be as stong as a well designed falling block rifle

I guess you got a free stamp with the branding iron when you bought the K-95 I just can't belive how you could take it in a non rimmed cartridge

Does a double rifle "have to" break open?

Why not have a falling block with a double wide block--then have a single lever underneath that drops the wide block.
You'd have two firing pins in the block and either one or two triggers.
If it was built this way you wouldn't have to worry about "tightening" and how it locks up against the watertable. You'd also be able to shoot much higher pressures.
Ejectors would be similar to the ruger with one on left, the other on the right.
---Wouldn't this be an alternative to a break-action, and wouldn't it solve the strength/pressure issues as well?

Johan,
Do you know where I can find pictures of one of these? From what I see this would be the answer to the weaknesses of the double rifle, aside from 2 shots/load.

Also,
Are the prices similar to a break action?

I got an old copied article from Martin Hagn. If you contact Martin, he can provide you with more information regarding this action..

I'm not sure it's avilable to order

But this way you miss out on the key "strength. If you have two falling blocks you can fire one barrel while reloading the other!
