Barnes 525 grain Solid w/RL7, 76 grains at 2352 fps making a one hole group.
Woodleigh 532 gr w 83 grs IMR 4198 @ 2352 making a 3/4" group.
Hawk 600 gr RN, 74 gr RL7 @2105 making a one hole group.
Barrel length was not listed. I was impressed with the vel and groups from Reloader 7.
What do you think?
Thanks.
I think within a group of calibers that are similar that accuracy is a function of the gun rather than the specific cartridge/caliber. In other words if that gun had been rechambered with the full length 500 A2 then accuracy would be similar but of course with different loads. Or if a comaprable quality gun/barrel was in 450 Dakota, 416 Rigby, 450 Lott etc. accurayc would also be similar.
Also, with the ready availability at low prices of the CZ 550s, the need for these shortened magnums has greatly diminished.
