I am not sure what your 300 Win weighs but if you go to 458 Lott you want a much heavier rifle or you will take more punishment then the buff. The new heavier barrel will add some of that weight but then the rifle will be very muzzle heavy. A recoil reducer or two in the stock may balance the rifle and add the necessary weight.
