remington/spartan/baikal doubles
Remington just told me they are expecting to have this in their dealer's hands in July... yes, i asked early or late... they said "july, sir"... so i asked "two thousand and what" ... they replied "this year sir.. 2005"

okay.. so it's "just" a 45/70.....

and it's "just" a double gun...

and, for less than 600 bucks, a guy can run around shooting hippoPIGamous and buffaRAM and dream of africa....

or, to quote "wildwoodweed"
"we can take a trip and never leave the farm"

hopefully i'll have mine at least near to running before these come out...

and yeah, i'll have one... it's be the ONLY remington commerical in my house

Thanks for the update. Was just thinking of these the other evening and was wondering. Certainly don't need one...but.

Sure would make for a fun hog gun.

Jeffeosso,

Would really like to know what you think of the quality of the rifle after you've had a chance to try it. It sounds like a fun gun. Might be good for busting bear in the thick brush of Oregon's coastal mountains.

RELOAD - ITS FUN!

I was lucky enough to be one of the earlier folks to handle the 45-70 double at the shot show, in fact I was the one that took it out of its box, put it together and hung it on the wall. It got a big response at the show, it is a nice little gun, with emphasis on little. For the price finish was pretty good and I think from what I heard the production versions should even be better.
