Shot 6 shots from my ruger # 1 in 458 lott today. The biggest ive shot before was my 45/70. Posted a picture of both as the look so cool togather. Recoil was no where as bad as I was expecting. The trigger is a little lighter than I am used to had one of the last three shots I took from kneeling take me by surprise thats the low one. I shot the hornady 500 grain factory loads at about 75 yards. It WAS GREAT!! I am hooked. Thanks for the advice Im sure ill have many more questions. I also put picture of the 45/70 shell next to the lott as it also looks cool. Im going to try and give some video later or tomorow ill post that if I can! dean [ 02-09-2003, 01:00: Message edited by: tonto ]

Your rifles look great big bores are just the best and it annoy's me when people say "it's rediculous to shoot small game with them" These same people think it's fine to shoot pigs with .223's and 22/250's, I say whose the idiot. Big bores are defintely the go and they are very humane killers of game

Glad you like your Lott. My #1 is still with my gunsmith. It's an older 458Win, being rechambered to Lott, restocked in fiddleback maple, new quarter rib/sights, etc. It will be somewhat unique when it's finished, and with all the load possibilities, I'm sure it will be one of my favorites too.
