My company is starting a new plant in the Cleburne, Texas area 4th quarter next year. Is this anywhere near some decent hunting? Where is the double rifle and bigbore shoot at? Dean

Yes, decent area. You're in striking distance of all kinds of hunting in Texas. You can go north into OK and KS for pheasant. You can also slip up the the Dallas SCI shows and meet a bunch of AR people including the original Band of Brothers double rifle shooters, some of whom are local. The Band of Bubbas is now international but the seat of Bubbaness and Bubba shooting is about 4 hours SSW. There's also the secret STC club but trust me, I'd not be in any hurry to join that one if I were you. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

tonto There is not much public hunting land in Texas. Here many people have a "Deer Lease" that they pay a yearly fee foe the hunting rights. Some people have the same deer lease for many years. Some of the pepole on my lease have been there @ 15 years, I have been there 8 or 9. The DRSS shoots have always been in Houston, but there are several DRSS people in Dallas. Plus the DRSS tries to do a hunt or two every year, usually for pigs, sometimes on a place where exotics can be hunted also. Both can be hunted year round in TX. I have done 2 hunts on a place where some of us killed eland with our doubles. It was a great hunt and the meat was very good. When you get down here let us know. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
