CZ-USA says for additional $65, they will install a 3 position safety on the 550 magnum that I wish to order in 416 Rigby. Does anypne have any experience with this safety? Is it similar to the M70 safety? Does it leave any gap in the right rear stock? BTW, they do say the stock shown on their website is the only one available for the 550 magnum. Thanks.

Many of the current 550's have a 3 position safety. It looks the same as the 2 position rocker type. Mine was on a full stock 9.3x62. You may want to clarify with them if it is the rocker type or a m-70 wing type.

PME inc. used to make a M70 style safety/shroud for the ZKK 600-602. They may make one for the 550.
PME (360)748-3743. They are in Washington

PME makes definetly (http://www.precisemetalsmithing.com/3%20Pos%20safety.htm) a M70 style safety for the 550. The price is US$ 193,97. I have it installed on my 550 Magnum. It is worth every cent!

Have already ordered my CZ550, but due the nice wood of on in stock I had to take one the vendor already had, so couldn't make it 3 position for the safety.

Considering a M70 style saftey, but found something interesting for the Mauser 98 - the "Seehuber" safety. This is similar to the new Blaser and Krieghof safteys - you can carry the gun with an uncocked bolt - then you cock and shoot.

What do you think about this safety system on a DGR?
(hope the picture is visible)

DayDreamer the added weight is going to slow down the lock time. That probably doesn't matter on a DGR though.

Doesn't matter - will have 3 kick-stops and lead everywhere possible, to get to 20lbs for comfortable shooting anyway!!!!!

That .223 kicks a lot, you know!
