Somehow I dont think a tripod mounted semi-auto in this caliber would be acceptable. < !--color-->

I was referring to break actions, falling blocks, Martini types,as well as all bolt designs, etc. I think the gov, which the GCA says they have the right legally to determine what is sporting in the over 50 caliber sizes, would just put out a list of action types, publicize it, so that we don't have to send in every gun built to be technically in compliance with the bureaucrats.Gov was real eager to put out lists of prohibited guns under various laws, even to naming brand names, so they have the means to make life easier for us big bore nuts.As far as an auto version you would own a class 3 gun and pay the tax to be legal, just like class 3 guys do now.Ed.

Ed My final letter was dated 14 Oct 04 and their reply is stamped 29 Nov 04 about six weeks. The letter states that the sample submitted is designed solely for sporting purpose and it is not a destructive device. The letter only covers my barreled action so I plan to follow up with a second letter when I do the 550 express and see if they can cover all types with a blanket letter. RNS
