On another thread I was told about this caliber and now I am wodering how much alteration of the 30/06 length action would need to be done to get this to work. Does the bolt face need opening up, much rail work etc. ?? (Case head courtesy of NE 450 is .488). Secondly I was thinking about how this round would go in one of the cz Full stocks, so it would be like a big bore carbine with 20.5" barrel. What do others think ?? PC I suggest you contact Harald Wolf, he has built a few rifles in the caliber and can give you a lot of information. Good luck Johan

That would be a simple conversion, a little action work and rebarrel...It is a neat little cartridge and I got 2375 with a 350 BX and 2200 plus with 400 Gr. Woodleighs..and the o6 box will hold 4 sometimes 5 down and one up....Great Buff, Lion gun and I wouldn't hesitate to stick one of those 400 gr. woodlighs in an elephant, should the ocassion arise. The advent of Horneber brass as opposed to Bertram makes all the difference in the world...

Daniel, check out the thread in Medium Bores Forum about "Full Stock CZ's Whats the most suitable classic calibre" Ray I like the ballistics and it seems it would make a nice little carbine. Funny I read Boddingtons report on it in Safari Rifles and he stated "it's best forgotton" although he stated it was hampered by both brass and bullets of the era. For my uses, pigs & roo's I think woodleigh's 347 gr loading would work very well. CH4 also list the dies.
