Just thought I'd see if anyone had any experiences yet with the new flat nosed banded solids. I just got some today for the .416 Rigby and .375 H&H and thought I'd give them a try. Any ideas how much to drop the powder charge as compared to a load developed with a Nosler partition? A shot not taken is always a miss

how about buying a barns reloading manual that would probably help. not trying to be rude but it would solve your problem.

I've bought some 300 grainers for my 375 and I'm just startng to test them along side the TSX's. So far I'm at equal powder charges and I'm not seeing anything different yet. I have the TSX bullets at 2480 fps with IMR 4064 and no signs of pressure yet with either bullet. 700 Nitro, I share jstevens frustration since the current Barnes manual has no data for the banded solids or TSX's. Jstevens, I've had outstanding results in both 375 & 30-06 with H4350 and x bullet data. Tanzania in 2006! Had 141 posts on prior forum as citori3.

The FAQ on their web site says to use the data in the Barnes 3 manual and that they have not yet published the data for the TSX. It also states there MAY be lower pressure in SOME rounds, so it MAY be safe to exceed the maximum published load. This was too vague for me; I stuck with the published loads. ____________________________________________ "Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. j, Don't think you have to lighten powder charge..I would shoot to see where they are going and then make adjustments... Mike

All the help is appreciated. I normally just grab a bunch of bullets, brass, and load away, but wasting $1 a shot on bullets as well as using up .416 brass on several days load development is not fun. I like to shoot the .416, but 3 or 4 3-shot groups from the bench and over the chrono. I'd rather get in some real field practice with it an keep the load development as fast as possible. In most normal calibers of .30-06 size, the TSX will normally require a 1-grain reduction in charge from the same load with a Nosler. A shot not taken is always a miss

Midway and Midsouth both have the TSX at about $34/box right now. The banded solids are still $44 or so.
