500grainsIn the 470 capstick it does not matter (in my experience), although I think .474" is the proper diameter.

I was just noticing that there are far more bullets made in the .474" diameter for the popular .470 Nitro Express than what is offered in .475".
That's good to know, considering the .470's popularity!

jeffeossothe caliber is called the 470 mbogo.
in the british 470 calibers, this means a .475 bullet.
a 475 caliber could mean .476, .483 (+-.002) or a .485
This is why I was strident in calling the 470 AR the 4 7 0
To answer your question, a 470 caliber, unless a double rifle, is perfectly happy with .473 to .475 ...
seems huge, doesn't it?
The double rifle will genereally by a .474, as that will NOT generate as much pressure , with the same charge, as a .474 closing fitting bullet. It will also render a slower velocity.
In short, the 470mbogo (and 470 AR) can take .473 to .475 bullets

I noticed the caliber discrepancies on the Barnes site, and noticed that in the world of Double Rifles the .475 caliber can be confusing!
THANKS for the TUTORIAL, Jeffe!!!
