First of all, why don't you try a different name, so we don't all think you're an idiot. Now I'll pretend you didn't act like a jerk for an extended period of time. --------------------------- My opinion of the DGR rifle; It must have nice wood. It must have a quarter rib, put as many folding leaves on it as you like. It must have a hooded banded front sight. It should have a point skeleton grip cap. The bolt knob should be 3 panel checkered. It must have quality quick removable rings and quality bases. It must have a HIGH QUALITY low power scope with lots of eye relief. Since you said you are getting an AHR, I'll assume you are getting a smooth action, good trigger, and good feeding right out of the box. That's the way I like it. Some of this just makes it look good and some of it makes it work right.

I'd go classy but cheap. Talley bolt handle, some make of barrel band, NECG banded front ramp sights. Quarter rib would complete the look, but I don't imagine you'll get a .577" barrel in Douglas or Shilen #5 contour, which is the largest size for which I have found a ready-made qtr rib blank. AHR may make their own in-house though. If not, you'd have to use an island base for the rear, which also looks nice but IMO isn't as 'mean' looking. Regarding the stock, I'd look into a classic open-sight style, in laminate. NextJoe's classic styled Rigby looks great with a laminate. HTH, Todd

Why not just "trim it out" like you did your last one, i.e. just lie about it? Here's your last rifle in case you need some ideas. Once a liar, always a liar. [ 01-29-2003, 21:02: Message edited by: Pecos45 ]

Is this a working gun or a museum piece? I will assume it is a working gun. 1. $500 english walnut blank 2. ebony forend tip 3. talley grip cap 4. talley bolt handle 5. quality black recoil pad 6. model 70 safety 7. no quarter rib, unless you are really dying to toss another $300 into the price tag 8. NECG masterpiece adjustable rear sight and NECG barrel band front sight 9. checkering is optional. I would skip it for now. You can add it later. The most important issue is feeding. Unless feeding is perfect, I wouldn't do another thing. Check feeding first, then if it is ok, finish the rifle.
