The gunsmith who will be building my mates and my .585 Nyatti has suggested if we want a better barrel than the sprinter he had previuosly suggested, then go for a badger as they are good value and perform well. Obviously we will not be needing bench accuracy and the reality is we will not be able to shoot the rifle as well as it can shoot due to recoil. My question is are they a good choice and have others used them in big bores with good results? I will be getting one either way just want to hear others opinions on them, I really cannot afford any dearer barrel than this but just want something that is good value for money. I posted on the gunsmithing but no answer so I thought I would try here. Thank you PC ------------------

I have been very pleased with my Pac-Nor super match grade stainless barrels, which come pre-threaded and deep chambered (saving you the cost of a reamer) for about US$250. It takes about 8 weeks to get one. Be sure you know what your threads are before you order. Note that the pac-nors have a twist rate set for the 577 NE, but I have been pleased with mine.

I have a 23" Lothar Walter barrel on my Nyati. I am very pleased with it, its one of the most accurate and forgiving barrel/caliber combinations I ever have used. // J.G

I am a confirmed Lothar Walther fan..I doubt that I will ever use any other barrel and I have used them all at one time or another... For the difference in price and the time and work involved in one of these guns I allways go first class, that money spent wisely. ------------------
