So i found this article about a 600 overkill with a 30" barrel !

https://www.bullberry.com/sing...erkill-and-then-some

Too bad they didnt run it over the chrono just out of curiosity . They should have went 32" which is about the max pacnor seems to go . Pac-nor wont make anything over 32" unless its .510 or 20mm .

"The Overkill weighs about 30 pounds and measures about 53" in overall length. And still kicks. With the brake installed."

It's kind of funny how everybody has a different perspective on weight and recoil. Wayne Jacobson of American Hunting Rifles showed up at the Safari Shoot with one of his creations in 600OK. He and his son shot it on all of the courses with great success. No muzzle brake and of a size and weight that you could actually hunt with!

It is about the tenth picture down in this link........

I've heard Wayne's recoil tolerance is legendary. He's one hell of a gunsmith too.

It's not a big bore unless your nose bleeds every time you fire it....

In my limited experience with big guns I find that recoil velocity is more of a limiting factor than the ft lbs of recoil it self .

For hunting purposes a 26" is probably the longest anyone would go with or 27"

Who could handle a rifle of that mass?

Ridiculous.

Having said that, I have yet to shoot a 600OK.

Would like to.

Yes, I find recoil velocity a limit.

I actually might get started on having one built later this year . Been looking at a cz 550 375 left hand model since im a lefty and never owned a left handed bolt action .

I think the 600 ok in the article was built just for fun . Reminds me of a xp100 I think its called ? Pistol that someone built in 470 capstick for bench rest shooting .
