Anyone own one? I have owned a couple of Mark V rifles and like them a lot. The Dangerous Game rifle holds 4 down and of course comes in lots of interesting calibers. Would love to hear your thoughts. Seems like $2500 is a lot for a Weatherby, but by the time you do anything else interesting with a rifle you are way past that. And I have always liked Mark Vs. So that's a win for me.

I had a 416 Weatherby with a muzzle break. Used it for cape buffalo, but sold it after the safari. Paul Gulbas

I've got a .416 Remington DGR. I like it a lot. It could be for sale for a lot less than $2500 if you're interested. NRA Life Member

I'd like to get one in .458WM to match my CZ550 .458.. You'll probably never NEED a gun. In fact I hope you never do. BUT IF you do, you will probably need it worse than anything you've ever needed before in your life...

I have two Weatherby Mark V's in HS Precision stocks that I am looking to sell with or without scopes. Both are like new, one in 378 Weatherby and the other is a 416 Weatherby. Both will shoot sub 1" groups at 100yds. I think the original stock I have will fit the 378. I set them up originally for Alaska brown bear and then took my 338-378 Weatherby instead.

Everyone has a big bore Weatherby to sell. Always been that way. A friend of mine in the central valley owns a gun shop, he has had a 460 Weatherby in that shopt for 15 years. He's fired 2 rounds out of it, and put $2400 on the rifle. He reckons that the rifle might sell during the zombie appocolypse. Tons of 378s and 460's for sale.

Yep lots of them with half a box of ammo. A lot of 378s, and 460's with 2 rounds fired.

Not a big fan of Weatherbys or Remingtons. Good look on your quest.

I bought my 460 in late 1998 from the store in Southgate, CA. Credit card was on the counter when the salesman said he needed to check on something. Came back with a brand new 24" Mark V that had slight checking or crazing in the finish near the fore end. Gave it to me for his cost: $695 before tax and DROS. I had Williams sights installed during the 10 day wait (Kalifornia) and I've been in love with it since. I don't hunt with it, just blow holes through thick pieces of steel and experiment with various types of bullets. Therefore I have little to offer this audience, advice wise. I started out buying ammo for $62 a box and built up a decent supply of brass that I systematically reload. The load I use for 500 gr. pills is 115 gr. of IMR 4350. 2410 fps +- 10 fps. Factory loads go about 100 fps faster. I would have preferred a 26" tube but I'm not complaining.

Mate, I'd LOVE to get one but my wife would have my testicles if I did... You'll probably never NEED a gun. In fact I hope you never do. BUT IF you do, you will probably need it worse than anything you've ever needed before in your life...

A guy is selling a .460 Weatherby with a box of ammunition. The buyer takes a look in the box and notices that only three have been fired. He asks the seller if the recoil was so bad that he gave up after only three shots. The seller says "Three? Hell, I'm the third owner!" That said, I've also seen a lot of .338 Win Mags that haven't been shot more than once or twice. A lot of people seem to regret buying a big magnum rifle sometime between squeezing the trigger and the first bullet hitting the target. Shooting .500+ caliber rifles tends to make you immune to the little stuff. Like the .378 Weatherby.
