I got a good deal on both guns.First I got a super Grade model 70 .He swears it was built in 1973 but it looks new .The 416 rem mag in a Sako looks as new. They are an awesome pair. The 458 win mag is hardly made with Winchester gone same for the 416 rem mag.I thinkthere were alot of 458 model 70s.I think the 416 rem mag was only made in about 1000 win model 70s.The 416s have been going for $3000 nib.I got a good buy on both.Iuse to have a 458 one of those Savages express.I didnt trust it .It weighed under 7 pounds. This 458 stock is scratched a bunch but I can get a new one from brownells for $120.The Sako broke the factory rings so he piut leopold rings on it.I looked at one when I got my winchester. They are a good pair of rifles not as good as a ruger rsm but very nice.
I like the Sako but the factory rings snaped on this rifle.I got the 458 for under $1000 and the sako for $950.I thought it was a good buy.I cant wait to shoot the Sakoits a very pretty gun.I wish I had the fiberglass stock for it thought or something besides this pretty wood. The 458 was scratched but in perfict shape hardly shot either one of them.I was wondering if anyone else on here had a sako 416 .The guy said it shot under an inch with remington factory loads. He said they dont make the wood stock like this one any more.I still like that Ruger rsm though.I just couldnt find one in the caliber I wanted it in.
Dang this sako 416 would be awesome to convert to 416 ultra mag but I dont need any more wildcats I hate the 375 jdj I have.I hate making brass .The sako is kind of light for the 416 ultra mag any way.
