The canoe paddle stock is molded to have a near CNC fit. With the angled lug, mine had no slack or slop whatsoever. I tested it for any indication/sign of binding the action and found that it had none, everything fit square and tight as if bedded. It was a complete perfect drop-in and it did not hinder accuracy in any way. Being the stock material is tough as nails, I decided not to remove any to replace w/ bedding material. I prefer devcon for bedding and marine-tex for skim coats. But, every synthetic stock material I've tested bedding compounds on, the marine-tex appears to adhere better. With proper bedding techniques, Marine-tex has held up for me on rifles up to 458WM. But, I continue to use devcon on fiberglass stocks. Hope this helps, but keep in mind that the canoe paddle is not for everyone. I've never had issues handling stiff recoiling rifles and find a 375H&H to be a sweet pup. I have friends who struggle w/ anything over a 30-06 much less the 375H&H. Someone who falls in this group and is borderline in handling the factory lead sled Hogue may want to think twice before using the canoe stock. GVA | |||
