| Use a compact scope such as a 1X5 or 1.5X5 Leupold . As for loads the old load 1886 load of 3031 and the 405 grain jacketed bullets works well. |

| Leupold 2.5 compact or their scout scope is more magnification than a fella needs for big game at 45/70 ranges. For factory ammo my Guide Gun likes Remington 405s, Federal & Winchester 300 JHPs, and especially the Winchester Nosler 300 gr Partition. I've had good success with IMR3031, IMR4198, and RL7 with the jacketed 350 gr Hornady softs and commercially cast lead 405s. Still looking for a pistol power load for the cast 300s. |

| I use a red dot on mine. More than enough sight for anything at 45-70 ranges. I find it to be a good deal faster than a regular scope. Mine is a Millett.
I learned everything I will ever need to know about "Islam" on Sept. 11th, 2001

| I use a 1x4 Leupold more to see an opening in brush rather than distance here in NY. I went to the Win Partition after finding the other 300 factories were too fragile. |
