Dear All

I am looking for a new big bore. I currently have a 375H&H and a 416 Rigby. My line of thought is to go with one of the following (rifle make next to cartridge):
450 Rigby (CZ); or
460 Weatherby (Weatherby); or
500 Jeffrey (CZ)

I would appreciate some comments and/or suggestions

A logical step up would be the 450 Rigby. I have a CZ in 450 Dakota, same-same cartridge. Two steps up would be the CZ in 505 Gibbs. I got one of those too, and you can tell the difference.
Are you anywhere close enough to come to the Boise, Idaho, area and try both out? I'll make the offer.

How about a 458 Watts, versitile for sure. The ability to shoot 458 Watts< 458 Lott and 458 Win all in the same rifle. Never be without ammo any where in the world of big bores.

Out of the three listed. I would go 460Wby and then the 500. I found enough difference going from the 416 Rigby to the 460 to have fun. Brass is easy to get also.

I have a Lott and a 450 Dakota and the Dakota is much more pleasant to shoot. I can load from 2100 to 2400fps with no trouble and great accuracy.
I have shot the Rigby some and it is a good round too. Not punishing at all with good velocity.
I like the Dakota in a 20" barrel. You can still get 2350fps from it with no trouble and good accuracy.

I will go with the .500 cal
If you buy a .458 it would not be long till you again start thinking about a bigger gun.
