I'm considering re-chambering one of my Sakos (currently in .338) to .416 Taylor and was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with that. Any info. regarding the re-chambering and/or the cartridge itself would be appreciated.

It's a fairly easy conversion.....simply re-barrel the action with a .416 tube that's chambered for the Taylor and you're set. I've not worked much with Sakos, but you shouldn't have to alter the feed rails for this conversion. Lee Martin www.singleactions.com

RGraff, If you go back one page from here (click the number two down near the bottom of the page) there are four different threads concerning the 416 Taylor. Not that I mind you post! Just thought I'd guide you to some recent discussions. Here's the link to my 416Taylor webpage... The 416 Taylor WebPage!

RGraff, If you go with the Taylor, check out the Hornady dies. They were cheaper (price) and they seem to load top notch rounds for me very straight.
