I was on their website and saw this rifle. Does anyone have any experience with it? I've shot their pistols and thought well of them, but I don't have any experience with their rifles.
This rifle is made by the Mauser company that is back in business making rifles. There's two weapons-making companies named Mauser now: Mauser Jagdwaffen, which makes the M98 Magnum, and Mauser-Werke Oberndorf, which makes military weapons such as 20, 30, and 37 mm automatic cannons.
There are other Mauser companies, but they do not deal in firearms.

Mauser Jagdwaffen is only a buy out of the brand name from the Mauser company. It is under a holding together with Blaser and Sauer. They are not making rifles from scratch but selling some rifles of different origin. There are some assembler of Mauser rifles using actions from Italy, baltic states or RSA.

And they have the gall to charge $10,000 US for a rifle assembled in Germany with parts made who knows where? For $10K they should be able to hand build the rifle IN GERMANY!!
You can get a US-made custom DGR based on a Winchester Model 70 action for less, and you know where everything comes from.

There is no critics on this rifles. They are far better than old original Mausers. The action also for the Johannsen is from the baltics via Prechtl, Germany. Critics is only about the myths of the Mauser brand, today you can find it on toy handguns,
Mr. Prechtl , who builds the actions from scratch, is a very knowledgeable gunsmith with lots of experience ! Not only that the metallurgy is way better than the old nostalgic stuff , but heat treating and finish as well ! How do I know ? Gottfried Prechtl is a friend of mine , that`s how ! Believe me , these rifles are worth every darn Dollar , if in doubt , look at the pictures above . Just my 2 cents worth , J�rgen

I`ll promise to do whatever I can , as usual ! But since Gottfried is not only a gunsmith but also a mill/lathe combination manufacturer , give him a little time , as always : better be safe than sorry !
I will be in finacial trouble if you keep posting these pretty pictures. They are awesome for viewing pressure. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

Gottfried Prechtl's genius was bound to spill over from guns to something else and his lathes and machinery must be brilliant, but, I'm sure you'll agree that looking at beautiful guns is infinitely more interesting!
