SBTQD Mounts
Who makes QD mounts that fit directly on a Ruger RSM and of those, which do you reccommend?

AtkinsonIt is pretty easy to attach levers to the existing Ruger rings and they are quite strong, good mounts....I think Talley makes Ruger rings???? but not sure...

Big BoreI use Warne QD on my Rugers. Work great and return to zero every time. They will take the recoil too, I have them on a No. 1 .375 H&H, 77 .458 Winny, and 77 .416 Rigby.

AtkinsonBig Bore,
I don't like the Warnes on a Mauser as they have to be installed with levers on the right side and recoil will bounce the levers around to interfere with opening of the bolt..I almost got stomped by a buff over that little deal, only a good PH saved my bacon at the last minute...I continued that hunt with black plastic tape around the scope and levers to hold them in place. so if you have levers on the bolt side of your 77 be forewarned and I think due to the bolt release you must...

SBTI've contacted Talley and they don't make mounts for the Ruger mdl 77. Warne does and they are the only ones I can find, but Ray's comments scare me.
Ray,
Who/where does one go about attaching levers to the original ruger mounts?

PCI use warne QD's on my cz 550 .458 Lott, 30 or so shots levers have not moved and there on the bolt handle side. There spring loaded, and you have to pull the lever out first to be able to move it.
I also have Talley QD's on a .585 Nyati they have not moved either.
I am not saying a problem can't occur but I have not seen it yet........

bwanajcjLeupold makes qd rings and bases for the ruger in either their proprietary system or in weaver style. excellent mounts very strong, always seem to return to zero, i don't have a ruger but i have a set on a browning 375, and a model 70 in .458 and in .416 so far they have been great!!

AtkinsonPC,
It does happen, but I would guess that one could put tougher springs in them and prevent that...
SBT,.It scared me also, much more than you!! It happened once on my .338 and again on my 404 Jefferys, thats when I sold all of them and went to Talley...If they will fit on the off side from the bolt then it would make little difference..recoil seems to be the culprit as best I could figure. No other reason comes to mind.
